Past, Present, and Future of Four Mile Hill
In 1948 the Community Center Church of Christ held services at the Center Consolidated School, which is now the 265 carry out. Services were held here for over 2 years until land was given to the church on October 23, 1950 from Celia K. Davis. The deed stated that the church could occupy the land as long as services were held there.
Shortly after this, construction began on the new church. The new church was completely built by the members of the church. The women of the church were even involved in the construction, hanging blocks from broom handles and carrying them to the men. Dedication and determination have been the foundation of this church from it's humble beginnings. Four Mile Hill has never put a limit on what God can do.
In 1990 the church purchased 22 acres just down the hill from there church. There was a one car garage and a house on the property, and a lot of future possibilities! God once again blessed the members with determination and vision. The one car garage was remodeled and added to, and now is a wonderful fellowship hall with restrooms, kitchen, office, and basement! The house was also added to giving them a parsonage for there pastor! Once again the church did not put a limit on what God could do. This property has been blessed in so many ways that it has been payed off for years now! God is amazing!
On February 23, 2003 construction was started on a new church which would feature a 4,000sq. ft. sanctuary, with complete sound room in the second story, class rooms, office, portico, restrooms, and a beautiful nursery for our smallest members. Facilities and parking are handicap accessible. The new worship center was dedicated on April 17, 2004, and was more beautiful than ever expected. God has truly blessed this church! Not with physical things but with a spirit of love and complete dependence on Him!
As God continues to bless, and the church continues to grow we are in constant prayer and eager expectation about what our next step will be in growing the Kingdom of God! We will never put a limit on what God wants to do through Four Mile Hill Church. We are constantly striving and searching for new opportunities to effect the community God has placed us in.
